Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships

The Commonwealth Teaching Scholarship Program provides up to $40,000 to new undergraduate and up to $20,000 to new postgraduate teacher education students. 

 

In return for a scholarship, recipients need to teach in government schools or government-run early learning settings after finishing their degrees.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for this Scholarship, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen;
  • be commencing an Australian accredited teaching degree;
  • be starting your degree in the first semester or first study period of the year you apply for the Scholarship;
  • study full-time for the duration of your Scholarship funding and;
  • be willing to commit to teach in a government school or government-run early learning setting in Australia after you graduate.

No late applications will be accepted. 

 

Priority will be given to First Nations applicants.
