Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship

This Scholarship was established to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to achieve educational success through completing studies at UQ, and to support greater representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in higher education as stated in the UQ Reconciliation Action Plan.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for this Scholarship, you must:

  • be an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person;
  • be able to demonstrate financial need (Centrelink statements, ATO statements, family income, etc.) and;
  • be enrolled in any coursework program in the applicable semester.
How to Apply

You only need to submit one application to be considered for all scholarships in the Aspire Scholarship scheme, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship scheme and the UQ Residential Scholarship scheme. 

 

You may need to upload supporting documentation that shows your:

  • financial circumstances (Centrelink payments, ATO statements, family income, etc.);
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status;
  • academic achievement and;
  • community service and/or leadership achievements.
