Port of Brisbane Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship
This Scholarship was established in 2025 by a gift from Port of Brisbane to support and empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to access and succeed in their tertiary education at UQ. Port of Brisbane is committed to reconciliation and investing in initiatives that enable and result in meaningful outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

QLDTo be eligible for this Scholarship, you must:
- be able to demonstrate financial need;
- be Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and;
- be enrolled in any coursework program in the applicable semester.
You only need to submit one application to be considered for all scholarships in the Aspire Scholarship scheme, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship scheme and the UQ Residential Scholarship scheme.
You may need to upload supporting documentation that shows your:
- financial circumstances (Centrelink payments, ATO statements, family income, etc.);
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander status;
- academic achievement and;
- community service and/or leadership achievements.
Scholarship value is $10,000 for 1 year. Number awarded may vary. This scholarship is part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme. Preference is given in order to students from South-East Queensland, enrolled in a Preferred Approved Program in the year of the award, and who have completed at least 16 units in an Approved Program.
