First Nations Director Scholarship Program
Participants will gain access to world-class governance education as well as culturally inclusive mentoring and workshop programs to build their network and professional skills as a director.
It includes:
- the AICD Foundations of Directorship for Indigenous Organisations course (three days) and an additional day-long workshop facilitated by AIGI;
It includes:
- the AICD Foundations of Directorship for Indigenous Organisations course (three days) and an additional day-long workshop facilitated by AIGI;
- accommodation to attend the course in a capital city;
- reimbursement of travel costs up to $500 (exc. GST) to attend the course in a a capital city;
- mentoring with seasoned First Nations company directors;
- industry workshops with a focus on cultural empowerment and governance ecosystem awareness;
- facilitated peer learning and networking opportunities and;
- one year membership to the AICD.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- currently sit on a board or committee of a member (or subsidiary member) organisation of the Coalition of Peaks;
- be a person of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and be accepted as such by the community in which you live;
- be aged 18 years or over;
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident;
- have never been disqualified from being a director of a corporation or organisation;
- agree to the Scholarships timings and commitments;
- provide with your application a letter of support from your organisation signed by the Chair, Board Member, CEO or Officer with authority to sign on behalf of the Board and/or CEO;
- provide supporting documentation to substantiate any responses in your Application and/or any other verification required and;
- agree to the T&Cs.
