George Harris Scholarship in Chemistry Honours
An $8,500 per annum scholarship to support students undertaking an honours program in the School of Chemistry at the University of Sydney.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- be an Australian citizen;
- have an unconditional offer of admission in an Honours degree in the School of Chemistry within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney;
- be able to demonstrate you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as defined in the University of Sydney's Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy 2015 and/or;
- experience financial hardship (Centrelink statement), and/or;
- have a long-term medical condition (Doctor's Letter), and/or
- be at a regional or remote disadvantage defined by the Australian Government Doctor Connect classifications as inner regional, outer regional, remote or very remote and/or;
- have carer responsibilities (signed doctors letter).

Further Information
The scholarship is valued at $8,500 and is tenable for one year only, or paid pro-rata over the duration of honours study if enrolled part-time. It was established in 2023 through a donation from George Harris and is awarded on academic merit, with selection based on relevant 3000-level chemistry units.
