Gavin Wanganeen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship
Gavin Wanganeen is the first Aboriginal Australian to receive an AFL life membership for playing 300 official matches. He is also a premiership star, Brownlow medalist, five-time All Australian and Best and Fairest winner in Port Adelaide Football Club.
This scholarship awards up to $5,000 per year, to a maximum of $20,000.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student enrolled in the University of South Australia;
- maintain a grade point average of 4.0.

Value stated on the page includes $5,000 per year up to a maximum of $20,000, with payments made in two instalments of $2,500 after Semester 1 and 2 census dates; pro-rata payments apply for part-time enrolment. The recipient is required to act as a positive ambassador for the scholarship, continuance is subject to satisfactory academic progress, and previous recipients are not eligible to apply for other Gavin Wanganeen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarships.
