This project will investigate ecoacoustics through the perspective of traditional land management practices. With events like the Black Summer wildfires increasing in frequency and severity, there are calls for land management practices to better incorporate Traditional Ecological Knowledge (e.g. cultural burning). This project will apply acoustic metrics to investigate how traditional land management practices influence the condition of ecosystems and faunal communities. The specific aims of this project will be guided by the student's interest.
This project is supported by an ARC Industry Fellowship, in partnership with Bush Heritage Australia.

You will receive a tuition fee offset, covering the cost of your tuition fees for the first four full-time equivalent years of your doctoral studies.
